Laurel has been married for over 30 years, and has an adult son and daughter. She is not yet a grandparent, but has a heart for family ministry. As a young parent, she responded to God’s call on her life to be an intercessor. In 2018 she was surprised and humbled to receive an invitation to participate, through prayer, in preparing the way for a Grandparenting Ministry in Canada.
Laurel grew up in the beautiful Fraser Valley, BC, and attended Bible school in Saskatchewan, where she met her husband from rural Alberta. She is grateful that Calgary has been their home for 25 years. She is a full-time teacher and academic advisor at a private school for students with Learning Disabilities and ADHD. It brings her joy to support at-risk youth to maximize their God-given potential.
Laurel’s greatest delight is her friendship with Jesus. Her happy place is in the Rocky Mountains where she loves to camp, hike and x-country ski. While time with family and friends is precious, nothing compares to solitude and communing with her Creator.
