WARD TANNEBERG has been in active and varied ministry for 60+ years, beginning as a young evangelist, serving as pastor in three churches, and working with leaders in midlife and beyond adult ministry. His interests are broad from a PhD in Theology to an alumnus of the Seattle FBI Citizens Academy. He’s an author and novelist and writes a weekly Internet blog, Perspective, about living, learning and leading in Life’s Third Age as a follower of Jesus. Ward is a widower with 2 married children, 3 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 2 great grandsons, and enjoys quiet evenings, being with family, good books and movies, sports, travel, and long walks with his ‘wonder dog’ GAGE. No matter the age, from wee little ones to the oldest grandchildren, do not let this holiday pass without capitalizing on it for the Lord. May this post whet your appetite and get you thinking about things you could do.
It is easy for our grandchildren to get lost in this world of ever-competing messages. They might be frightened by what they hear, see, and feel.
Let’s not limit our scope to church programs. Why not think about equipping the members of our churches for their most crucial relationships in everyday life?
What we teach our children and grandchildren about God now will impact their eternity — and also what they, in turn, then leave behind or pass on to their children. We are called to leave a spiritual impact on our families to be handed down.
With our busy lives, how is it even possible to screen everything, to decipher intent, or discern underlying agendas? How can we remain alert?
