Shortly after the end of WW2, when people were trying to make sense of the war\u2019s massive destruction of life and property, Billy Graham and some of his associates were granted an interview with Britain\u2019s famous statesman, Sir Winston Churchill. Churchill had captured the hearts of the British people with his impassioned speeches, especially during the German bombing of Britain. Perhaps one his most famous speech was given to the boys at Harrow, his old school, on October 29, 1941, – inordinately short, incredibly compelling and intensely memorable and contained these words \u2013 \u201cnever give in, never give in\u2026in nothing, great or small, large or petty\u2013never give in.\u201d As Churchill sat that day with Graham and his associates, he asked this upfront compelling question, \u201cGentlemen, Is there any hope!!\u201d It is a question that many are asking in these troubling times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a war today against an enemy that cannot be seen, that is global in its scope, and without regard to any persons, COVID\u201319 has captured the attention of the world. It is taxing our medical resources, changing the way we do community, isolating the lonely and critically ill, and adversely affecting the masses financially. As we grapple with the uncertainties of life brought on by this pandemic, it is easy to feel overwhelmed and even hopeless. As we pray for the protection of our children and grandchildren from this deadly virus, let us not forget a far greater unseen battle that has been raging since the beginning of time \u2013 the engagement of the evil one and all his followers to capture not only our hearts but the hearts of our children and grandchildren as well. (Eph. 6:10-12, I Peter 4:8) <\/p>\n\n\n\n
